1. Check the Serial Number

Make sure you’re entering the correct serial number from the label on the printer (usually on the back or bottom).

Avoid typing letters like O instead of 0 or I instead of 1.

If the label is worn or unreadable, check your purchase invoice or printer box for the serial number.

 

2. Access HP Support Without Serial Number

You can get basic support without the serial number:

Go to HP Customer Support → Select Printers → LaserJet P2055 → Choose your OS.

Download drivers, software, and troubleshooting guides directly.

 

3. Check Printer Connectivity

USB Connection:

Ensure the cable is securely connected to both printer and computer.

Try a different USB port or cable.

Network Connection (Ethernet/Wi-Fi):

Make sure the printer has a valid IP address.

Print a configuration page using the printer buttons to check network status.

 

4. Reinstall Printer Drivers
