Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.
HP Recommended

I have an HP LaserJet 100 color MFP M175nw printer. It is connected to my Dell laptop by wire, not via a network.
As so many others have complained, it keeps going offline - 90% of the times I start my computer and/or the printer. I've rebooted, re-installed the software - nothing helps. (After re-installing the software, it seemed to work for a while, but no more.) It does calibrate from time to time, there's nothing wrong with it otherwise (other than that the top original feeder doesn't work anymore).

The blue network light blinks, and that's fine because I don't need it to be connected to a network. I just want to print using the cable.

Please make my printer print...

Hi @Jan399,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

1. Check Printer Status

  • Ensure that the printer is turned on and connected directly to a power outlet (not a surge protector).
  • Verify that the USB cable is securely connected to both the printer and the computer.
  • Make sure paper is loaded and there are no errors or warning lights on the printer display.

2. Set Printer Online

  1. Open Control Panel on your Windows computer.
  2. Go to Devices and Printers.
  3. Locate your HP LaserJet 100 color MFP M175nw.
  4. Right-click on the printer icon and select "See what's printing".
  5. In the print queue window, click on "Printer" in the top menu.
  6. Ensure that "Use Printer Offline" is not checked. If it is, uncheck it.

3. Set as Default Printer

  1. Open Control Panel.
  2. Go to Devices and Printers.
  3. Right-click on your HP LaserJet 100 color MFP M175nw and select "Set as default printer".

4. Restart Print Spooler Service

  1. Press Win + R to open the Run dialog.
  2. Type services.msc and press Enter.
  3. Scroll down and find Print Spooler.
  4. Right-click on Print Spooler and select Restart.

5. Disable SNMP Status

Sometimes the SNMP status protocol can cause network printers to go offline.

  1. Open Control Panel.
  2. Go to Devices and Printers.
  3. Right-click on your HP LaserJet 100 color MFP M175nw and select "Printer properties".
  4. Click on the "Ports" tab.
  5. Select the port your printer is using and click on "Configure Port".
  6. Uncheck "SNMP Status Enabled" and click OK.

I hope this helps.
