Hi @Ziggy2021

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand the situation clearly. The printer has completed the USB self‑test successfully and even printed the test page, but now the display is stuck and it will not respond to normal printing commands.

Let’s go step by step in simple terms:

Power Reset

  • Turn the printer off using the power button.
  • Disconnect the power cable from the back of the printer and from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the cable back in and turn the printer on.

Check the Connection

  • Make sure the USB cable is firmly connected to both the printer and the computer.
  • If possible, connect the cable to a different USB port on the computer.
  • Avoid using USB hubs or extension cables—connect directly.

Re‑add the Printer in HP App

  • On your computer, open the HP App.
  • Remove the printer if it is listed.
  • Add the printer again by following the on‑screen instructions. This ensures the driver and connection are refreshed.

Test Printing

  • Once the printer is added back, try printing a simple document (like a one‑page text file).
  • Observe if the printer responds normally.

Here is the official HP guide for performing a reset and reconnecting through the HP App:
HP Printer Setup (USB Connection)

This should help bring the printer back to normal operation. If the display still remains frozen after the reset, let me know what message (if any) appears on the screen so we can continue with the next accurate step.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
