Hi @William-R_53,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Envy 6055 printer is not recognizing your router's security code after years of reliable service, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve network connection issues:

  1. Verify Network Credentials:
    • Double-check that you are using the correct Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password. Ensure there are no typographical errors.

  2. Restart Devices:
    • Power off your printer, router, and computer or any other device you are using for the setup.
    • Turn them back on and attempt to reconnect your printer to the wireless network.

  3. Move the Printer Closer:
    • Place the printer closer to your router to ensure a strong and stable Wi-Fi signal.

  4. Check for Firmware Updates:
    • Ensure your printer is running the latest firmware. You can check for updates using the HP Smart App or by visiting the Official HP® Support for your printer model.

  5. Reconfigure Wireless Network:
    • You may need to reconfigure your printer's network settings. Here’s how:
      • Access the printer’s control panel.
      • Use the Wireless Setup Wizard under the Wireless menu to initiate a new connection to your network.
      • Follow the on-screen prompts to connect by selecting your network name and entering the security code.

  6. Reset Network Settings:
    • On your printer, you can reset the network settings to the factory defaults and then configure the wireless settings again. This can sometimes resolve connectivity issues if there is an issue with the current settings.
      • Usually done by accessing the printer settings via the control panel or the HP Smart app.

  7. Use the HP Smart App:
    • Use the HP Smart app to assist in connecting your printer. The app can guide you through the setup process on both mobile devices and PCs.

  8. Check Router Settings:
    • Ensure that the router is not blocking the printer or is not set to a security setting incompatible with the printer (e.g., check the router's security settings like WPA2).

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
