OfficeJet Pro 9015e all-in-one. I just installed a new WiFi router, a TP-Link Archer X3000. All other devices in our home can see the router and connect to it. But the printer does not. It doesn't appear in the printer's list of WiFi networks when I enter WiFi Setup Wizard mode. I can get it to connect manually by entering the name of the WiFi network on the touchscreen. Sometimes it will prompt me to push the router's WPS button, but when I do that, nothing happens. Sometimes it just asks for the password once I specify that the router uses WPA authentication. I can type in the password manually and, after a long pause, it will connect.
Any ideas why the printer wouldn't see the router's WiFi network? (Actually two of them -- it's a dual band 2.4GHz and 5GHz router.) Could it be a security setting on the router itself?
Thanks!

Welcome to HP Support Community
I would like to help
If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, then the printer might not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both the networks and you need to connect to the 2.4 GHz Network
Thank you

Thanks but that can't possibly be the problem. First of all, the two bands already have different network names (XXX and XXX_5G). Second, I've had dual band routers in multiple locations for years with HP printers and never had a problem until now.
Someone in the TP-Link forum suggested that the problem is that this router speaks the new 802.11ax a/k/a WiFi 6 protocol and the printer isn't set up to detect that. They suggested, in effect, dumbing down my new router so that it only speaks the older protocols. If that's true, that's nonsense. This is a recent model printer, it should speak the latest WiFi protocols, HP should have at least addressed this in a firmware update (I checked, my printer has up to date firmware).

Hello
I've got the same problem here in France with nother printer HP OFFICEJET 6500APLUS.
I changed box yesterday, the printer recognizes the wifi, but when trying to connect (with WPS or WPA key) it doesn't work.
But the printer shoulb be OK : it was working with the former box.
I tried to (and asked my provider) rename the 2 bands (2.4 and 5 Ghz) but there is just on name abd they confirmed it is not possible.
They also told me that if my printer is 5 Ghz compatible it will chose this band and if not it will take the 2.4 Ghz one.
So have no solution.
Thanks in advance.

hello
Exactly the same here in France.
My printer (which is old but was working 2 dayas ago with the former box) is not anymore and my provider told me that may be because of this new WIFI 6 protocol.
They tried to disconnect this WIFI 6 but it doesn't change anything.
Thanks
