Thank you for reaching out to the HP Support Community.

If you are encountering an "SSID doesn’t match" error on your new HP 2855e printer, it suggests that the printer is having trouble connecting to your Wi-Fi network. Here's how you can resolve this issue:

  1. Verify SSID and Password:

    • Double-check that you are entering the correct SSID (network name) and password. Both are case-sensitive, so ensure that you are using the correct capitalization.
  2. Restart Network Devices:

    • Restart your router by unplugging it, waiting a few seconds, and then plugging it back in.
    • Restart your printer as well to refresh its network settings.
  3. Use the HP Smart App:

    • If you haven’t already, download the HP Smart app on your mobile device or computer and use it to set up the printer. The app can guide you through connecting the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
  4. Check Network Compatibility:

    • Ensure that your printer is attempting to connect to a 2.4 GHz network. Many HP printers do not support 5 GHz networks.
  5. Proximity to Router:

    • Make sure your printer is close enough to your Wi-Fi router to maintain a strong connection. Avoid physical obstructions and electronic interference.
  6. Re-enter Network Information:

    • On the printer’s control panel, navigate to the wireless settings, and re-enter your network SSID and password.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to reconnect.
  7. Reset Network Settings:

    • You may need to reset the network settings on the printer and try connecting again. This typically involves holding down the wireless button until the light blinks.

Do keep us posted on whether these steps resolve the issue. We’ll be happy to assist you with the next steps.
