Hi. I have been trying to get someone at HP to accept that this is a problem with the printer for about 18 months. Assigning an IP address does not resolve the issue. The printer reports that it is on the network, but it isn't. Monitoring software cannot see it. Turning WiFi off and on refreshes the connection, but this REALLY should not be necessary.

I see I am far from alone based on the number of reports on this forum. HP really need to look at a firmware solution to this problem.

The link you posted refers to a mesh system.  Systems with repeaters and booster required special programming. The DHCP server in the modem needs to assign a fixed IP address to the printer and cannot allow a repeater or booster to assign a different IP address to the printer.  The print and scan doctor shown in that thread are programing the printer to have a fixed IP address.  It is possible that the modem may have already assigned that IP address to another device.

Try printing directly to the printer and not use the router as shown here

Do not call any phone numbers shown in any of the videos or revealed by a Bing or Google search unless it is an HP site or video.
