Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

In recent days I have installed 3 printers. 2x envy 7200 and one envy 7900

Installation went OK, all test OK, HP Smart installed and printing from windows apps OK.

Operating system: in two cases w11 and in one case w10

 

But with all installations, after some time, let say 10-15min, printer goes offline as far as the  HP Smart or windows functions are concerned. 

Wifi blue lamp still lit and symbol on the printer screen shows still printer being connected to the network.

Attempt to check with ping results in abt every 4th ping being answered with a delay of abt 500-1000ms.

So basically connection is here.

Attempting print is not successful.

In all 3 cases, printers are abt 2meter distance from the router. Router new with updates via provider.  Two routers in Switzerland, one in Czech republic.

 

The only way to print is to switch off the printer (takes abt 1min) and start again (takes abt 4-5min)

Then printing and scanning is possible for some 10-15min, after this printer goes again offline.

 

How can I make printers work normally, being switched on , and actually work?

just in case someone asks:

yes, all the firmware in the printers is latest, update done after installation.

 

All other services on the same network are OK.

 

Only all HP printers are unreachable.

Unreachable means in this case, no two way communication possible.

 

Ping still possible but with very long latency, all other targets in the network have no problems.

the usual texts 'help' are all worked through, no help at all.
Advise which ends in to restart the printer are funny, as this works, but after some 10min printer is offline again.
This can not be serious advise to restart the printer each time oen needs to print something?

I would need some advise permanently solving this situation.

As mentioned, those are 3 independent installations, each with own router and network and all do disconnect after some 10-15 min.

And yes, restarting the printer works, but this is not valid solution as printers were bought as to be operational as any other printer.
