I can only print from my laptop if I have it connected to the printer. If I disconnect my laptop, it takes the printer offline and I am not able to print.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

 

Let's restore the Printer's network settings:

 

Press and hold the Wireless button ( ) and the Cancel button ( ) from the printer control panel together for three seconds.

 

Once done, try connecting the Printer to the Wi-fi.
