Hi @Anna_Erica

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I understand that  your printer is connected but not printing, and you're experiencing issues with the print queue, here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem:

Restart the Printer and Computer

  • Turn off the printer and restart your computer.
  • Once your computer has rebooted, turn the printer back on and try printing again.

Clear Print Queue Manually

  • Open the "Run" dialog box on your computer by pressing Windows + R.
  • Type services.msc and press Enter.
  • Scroll down and find "Print Spooler," then right-click it and select "Stop."
  • Go to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS and delete all files inside this folder to clear the print queue.
  • Return to the "Services" window, right-click "Print Spooler," and select "Start.

Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers

  • Visit the HP Support website to download and install the latest drivers for your printer model.
  • Sometimes, uninstalling and reinstalling the printer software can resolve unseen conflicts.

Set Printer as Default

  • Go to "Settings" > "Devices" > "Printers & scanners."
  • Make sure the correct printer is set as the default printer.

Reset Printer Settings

  • On the touchscreen, tap Setup → Service → Restore Defaults.
  • Confirm the reset.
  • This clears custom settings but keeps firmware intact.
  • Try shutting down again after the reset.

Hope this helps, Please revert if the issue persists.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
