HP Office Jet 4634
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

my OfficeJet 4634 has recently disconnected and had to be reinstalled. Now it does not allow to print any longer because it cannot connect to WebServices/HPInstantInk. I have tried all support paths to similar problems, i.e. uninstalling/reinstalling, unplugging and replugging, etc.

But when I try to connect webservices/Eprint, I get an error message stating it cannot connect to the internet. Yet the printer is connected to the wireless network, and all other devices connected to the same network can access the internet. I have also set up the printer and see it as ready, but HPSmart obviously recognizes the 'invalid' HPINstantINk cartridges (due to lack of connection). WebScan works, just the error message that the printer cannot connect to the server. Also tried proxy setup with no success.

Thank you for any advice how to proceed,

@norskegutt, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand the printer is not connected to web services and you are not able to print. Let us try these steps:

Restart web services

Click here to know how to turn off web services. Refer to this document to know how to turn it on.

Perform the steps mentioned in this document - Cannot Connect to Web Services

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi Kumar,

Thanks for the response. I had already found those documents and tried all of the steps except for the proxy settings and the printer firmware check. My internet connection does not display any proxy server data, and the firmware cannot be checked as the printer cannot connect to the internet.

In EWS, WebServices show as not active and when I try to enable them I get that connection error message from the printer. I can scan documents via WLAN, but printing is impossible as the InstantInk cartridges are blocked due to the lack of connection. I have been using INstantInk for 3 years now without any problems and are hesitant to purchase standard cartridges again.

When I push the Eprint button, I get the question to enable WebServices. After pushing Yes I get asked for Automatic updates, After pushing Yes again, I almost immediately get the connection error message, cannot connect to internet, check the internet connection of your network. The latter obviously works for all other applications, PCs, tablets etc connected to the WLAN.

Again thanks for your help, and I hope there still is some other way to resolve this issue

Cheers, ANdreas
