I turned off and on the printer, computer and router to help connect, but nothing has worked. I restarted the wi-fi on the printer itself and it still hasn't connected. It has been fine and online for a long time. Don't know what's happened to it.

@JohnReger, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding printer being offline!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Here are some troubleshooting steps to help get your HP OfficeJet Pro 8034e printer back online:
Check the Network Connection
Ensure the Printer is Connected to Wi-Fi:
- On the printer, go to Setup > Network Setup > Wireless Settings and check if Wi-Fi is turned on.
- If it's off, turn it on and reconnect to your Wi-Fi network.
Verify Wi-Fi Signal Strength:
- Move the printer closer to the router (if possible) to rule out weak signals.
- Avoid obstructions like walls or other electronic devices that may cause interference.
Restart Devices Properly
- Turn off the printer, computer, and router.
- Unplug the router from the power source for about 60 seconds before plugging it back in.
- Wait for the router to fully restart. Then, turn on the printer and computer.
Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi
- On the printer’s control panel, go to Wireless Setup Wizard (under Network Settings) and follow the steps to connect to your Wi-Fi.
- If prompted, enter the correct Wi-Fi password.
Check for Firmware Updates
- On the printer’s touchscreen, go to Setup > Printer Update and check if there’s a new update available.
- Updating the firmware can fix connection issues.

Reset the Printer's Network Settings
If the printer still won’t connect:
- On the printer, go to Setup > Network Setup > Restore Network Settings.
- Once restored, run the Wireless Setup Wizard again to reconnect.
Reinstall the Printer on Your Computer
- On your computer, remove the printer from the installed devices list.
- Windows: Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click the printer, and select Remove device.
- Mac: Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, select the printer, and click the minus (-) button to remove it.
- Download and install the latest HP Smart software from HP’s website.
- Follow the setup process to reconnect the printer.
Check Your Router’s Settings
- Ensure that MAC Address Filtering isn’t blocking the printer.
- Check if your router's 2.4GHz band is enabled, as many printers don’t support 5GHz networks.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, let me know the error messages (if any) and any changes in the printer’s Wi-Fi indicator light (blinking, solid, off, etc.), and we can troubleshoot further! 😊
Take care, and have an amazing day!
