Hi @Soccermom11 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP DeskJet 4255e All-in-One printer is set up correctly but is not printing from your phone, try the following steps to troubleshoot:
1. Check Printer Status
- Ensure the printer is turned on and ready. If there are any error messages or blinking lights on the printer, resolve those first.
2. Check the WiFi Connection
- Ensure both your printer and phone are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- You can print a network configuration report from your printer’s control panel to check its connection status.
- If the printer is not connected to Wi-Fi, you may need to reconnect it through the HP Smart app.
3. Restart Printer and Phone
- Turn off the printer, wait for 10-15 seconds, and turn it back on.
- Restart your phone as well.
4. Use the HP Smart App
- Open the HP Smart app on your phone.
- Ensure that the app detects your printer. If it doesn't, try reconnecting it through the app.
- If needed, reinstall the app to ensure the latest version is installed.
5. Check Printer Queue
- Check if there are any pending print jobs stuck in the printer queue on your phone.
- On your phone, open the print settings or queue and cancel any pending jobs.
6. Test Print from a Different App or Device
- Try printing from a different app (like Photos or a PDF reader) or from a different device to see if the issue is specific to one app or your phone.
7. Update Firmware and Drivers
- Ensure your printer has the latest firmware installed. This can be done through the HP Smart app or the HP website.
- Ensure that the printer driver on your phone or app is up to date.
8. Check for Airplane Mode or Bluetooth Issues
- Make sure your phone is not in Airplane Mode and that Bluetooth (if using it) is properly connected.
If none of these steps work, let me know if the issue is specific to printing from certain apps or if the problem occurs with all print attempts.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
