My printer hp 6555e is stuck on the barcode screen. I tried setting up on wifi and it failed. Since retrying, I find it on the HP app. I can't get to any other screen on the printer either.

@SportsFan12345, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It sounds like you're experiencing issues with your HP printer being stuck on the barcode screen during setup. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Restart the Printer: Begin by powering off your HP printer completely. Wait for about 30 seconds before turning it back on to see if this resolves the issue.

Restart Your Network Devices: This includes your router and any Wi-Fi extenders. Sometimes, a simple reset can resolve connectivity issues.

Check Network Settings: Ensure that your network settings are correct and the printer is set to connect to the correct Wi-Fi network.

Use the HP Smart App: Attempt to set up your printer using the HP Smart App on your smartphone or computer. The app can help guide you through the setup process.

Reset Network Settings on Printer: If the printer remains stuck, try resetting the network settings directly on the printer:

  • Navigate to the printer’s settings menu if possible and select “Restore Network Settings.”
  • This action depends on the printer model, so accessing the settings might require further steps you can't perform if it's stuck on the barcode screen. However, if there’s any way to reach a settings menu, give it a try.

Check for Software Updates: Use the HP Smart App or the printer's embedded web server to check if there are any updates available for the printer’s firmware.

Reboot and Retry Setup: After performing a reset, you can attempt to reconnect the printer to the Wi-Fi network again through the setup wizard on the printer, if accessible.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.

I tried all that. It won’t find the printer and I can’t reset the printer either because it’s stuck on this screen.
