Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

We have been printing to our HP laser Pro M404dn printer via network cable for quite a while.   Now every time we try to print to it we get a printer error.    If we connect via USB it prints fine.    Wondering what the issue might be.   I am thinking it is the network card in the printer that is the issue, or the setup.   Since it was setup and working I am thinking it must be the card, as it just stopped working after it has been working for quite a while.

Is there a way to replace the network card in it?   Or what else can I do to get this working again?

Reset everything back to factory settings, and then set them up as I needed them to be, and it is working again.   Not sure why that was necessary, but it is working now.

Does the error have a name or a code?

No error number or anything, no error message on the printer at all.   I send something to it and then will look to see what is printing and it will show the document that I sent and the status says Error-Printing.   That is all I get.  Only does this when using the network cable connection, USB works fine, but that will not work for a shared network printer.

I am going to reset the network settings and then try again, going to the default setting then to what I need it to be.  Will see if that does anything.
