HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One Printer - N911a

Printer keeps losing wireless connection to PC. To regain connection I have to power down printer and restart. After doing that the print job jumps to life at the end of startup sequence.

Hi @Kenzo1915,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Officejet Pro 8600 E-All-In-One Printer keeps losing contact with your PC, there are several troubleshooting steps you can take to resolve the issue.

Check Physical Connections:

  • Ensure that all cables connecting your printer to your PC are securely plugged in. This includes the USB cable or Ethernet cable, depending on your printer's connection method.

Restart Your Printer and PC:

  • Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues. Turn off both your printer and PC, wait for a few minutes, and then turn them back on.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Outdated or corrupt printer drivers can cause communication problems. Visit the HP website to download and install the latest drivers for your printer model.

Check Wireless Connection (If Applicable):

  • If you are using a wireless connection, make sure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your PC. You may need to reconfigure the Wi-Fi settings on your printer.

Firewall and Security Software:

  • Sometimes, security software or firewalls can block communication between your PC and printer. Check your security software settings and ensure that your printer is allowed to communicate with your PC.

Reset Network Settings (If Using Network Connection):

  • If you're using a network connection, you can try resetting your printer's network settings and then reconnecting it to the network.

HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • HP provides a troubleshooting tool called "HP Print and Scan Doctor" that can help diagnose and resolve common printing and scanning problems. You can download and run this tool from the HP website.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Sometimes, firmware updates for your printer can improve its compatibility and performance. Check if there are any firmware updates available for your HP Officejet Pro 8600 printer and apply them if necessary.

Reinstall the Printer:

  • If none of the above steps work, you can try uninstalling and then reinstalling the printer on your PC. This can help reset the printer settings and establish a fresh connection.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
