Envy 7640 Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I took my desktop computer to the Geek Squad for repair after it shut down. When I got it back it worked fine but they did something to where I can’t control settings or preferences on my HP printer  because it’s locked by the administrator and I have no password for that. I know someone posted it before and there is a solution. It was sent to that person privately. I would appreciate any help. Good photo printer but now I can’t maneuver. If anyone can help thanks in advance.

@RPA22, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand you are not able to make changes to the settings on the printer. We need to perform a factory reset on the printer to resolve this issue.

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
