Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

I have an older HP Office Jet 8600. It was working fine until the Windows 11 update.  It's not available on my network and I can't reinstall it. It is connected to my wireless router which I was able to set up through the built in network wizard but it still won't install on my computer.  I am using an HP laptop.  None of my printers are working as I have a newer Canon and it's the same situation.

Hi @JennaC1175,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like the Windows 11 update may have caused some compatibility issues with your printers. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem.

  • Check Printer Connection: Ensure that your HP Office Jet 8600 is properly connected to your wireless network. You may need to restart both your printer and your router to ensure a fresh connection.
  • Update Printer Drivers: Visit the HP website and download the latest drivers for your Office Jet 8600. Sometimes, Windows updates can cause issues with existing drivers, so installing the latest ones may resolve the problem.
  • Reinstall Printer: Try removing the printer from your list of installed devices and then reinstall it. To do this, go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners, select your printer, and click "Remove device." Then, follow the steps to add it back.
  • Troubleshoot Printer: Windows has a built-in printer troubleshooter that can help diagnose and fix common printing problems. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot, then select the Printer troubleshooter and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • Check Firewall/Antivirus Settings: Sometimes, firewall or antivirus software can block the connection between your computer and printer. Make sure that your firewall settings allow communication with your printers.
  • Check Network Settings: Ensure that your printer and computer are on the same network. You can also try assigning a static IP address to your printer to ensure a stable connection.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
