Hi @DrDapo,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP DeskJet 2710e printer is connected to your laptop but is experiencing issues with completing the print jobs. Here’s a step-by-step troubleshooting guide to help resolve the issue.
- Check Wi-Fi Connection: Ensure that your printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network. The stable Wi-Fi light indicates it's connected, but it's good to verify this.
- Restart Devices: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues. Restart both your printer and your laptop.
- Check Print Queue: On your laptop, check the print queue to see if there are any pending print jobs. If there are, try clearing them out and resend the print job to see if it completes.
- Update Printer Firmware: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can usually update the firmware through the printer’s settings menu or the HP Smart app.
- Reinstall Printer Software: If updating firmware doesn't work, try uninstalling and reinstalling the printer software on your laptop. This can often resolve communication issues between the devices.
- Reset Printer Network Settings: On the printer, you can reset the network settings to default. This will remove any saved network settings and force you to reconnect to your Wi-Fi network as if it were the first time.
- Check for Interference: Ensure that there are no physical obstructions or interference from other devices that could disrupt the Wi-Fi signal to your printer.
- Check for Paper Jams: Even if the printer attempts to print, it might stop if there’s a paper jam. Open the printer and check for any jams or paper that may be stuck.
- Run HP Print and Scan Doctor: HP provides a tool called HP Print and Scan Doctor, which can diagnose and resolve printing and scanning problems. Download and run this tool to see if it identifies any specific issues.
By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the connectivity and printing issue with your HP DeskJet 2710e printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
