Hi - I have a HP 6030 printer which has worked fine for the last 2 years. I am now have connection issues. The printer cannot seem to locate the wifi. I have tried pressing the wifi button on the back for 3 seconds and my route for 5 seconds simultaneously but still no connection. Any other ideas to try?

Hi @Rachael31 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're experiencing a common issue where the printer can't find your Wi-Fi network. Let's try a few additional troubleshooting steps to resolve the connection issue:
1. Restart Your Devices:
- Power cycle the printer: Turn it off, wait for 10 seconds, and then turn it back on.
- Restart your router and modem: Unplug both for 30 seconds and then plug them back in. This can help refresh the network and fix connectivity issues.
2. Use the HP Smart App: HP printer setup (HP Smart app)
- Reconfigure via the HP Smart App: Open the HP Smart app on your phone or computer. Go to the printer setup section, select your printer, and try reconnecting it to the Wi-Fi through the app.
- If you haven’t already, make sure the app is up-to-date.
3. Check the Printer's Network Settings: HP printer setup (Wi-Fi Direct)
- On the printer's control panel, check for a Wi-Fi Direct option or any Wi-Fi network setup. You can print a network configuration report to see the current network status and make sure it's looking for the correct network.
- Reset network settings (on the printer itself):
- Go to the printer’s settings.
- Look for a "Network" or "Wireless" section, and choose the option to reset or clear the network settings.
- This will allow you to reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network fresh.
4. Ensure 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi Compatibility:
- Many HP printers, including the ENVY 6030, only work with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks. Ensure that your router is broadcasting a 2.4 GHz signal (some routers broadcast on 5 GHz, which the printer may not detect).
- If your router uses both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, try temporarily disabling the 5 GHz network and reconnect the printer to the 2.4 GHz network.
5. Manually Enter Network Information (if available):
- On the printer's screen, go into the Wireless Setup Wizard and manually enter your Wi-Fi network details (SSID and password) if prompted.
6. Firmware Update: Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer, either via the HP Smart app or the HP website. Updates can fix connectivity bugs.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
