Wireless printer not working

I know how frustrating it is when your wireless printer refuses to print; it feels like everything stops when you need it most. Let’s troubleshoot this step by step:

1. Check Printer Status

  • Make sure the printer is powered on and shows a steady blue wireless light.
  • If the light is blinking, it’s not connected to Wi-Fi.

 

2. Verify Network Connection

  • Ensure your printer and computer/mobile device are on the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Avoid using the HP Direct Wi-Fi unless you intend to print via that mode.

 

3. Restart Devices

  • Power off your printer, router, and computer.
  • Wait 30 seconds, then restart in this order: Router → Printer → Computer.

 

4. Clear Print Queue

  • On your PC or Mac, open the print queue and cancel all pending jobs.
  • Restart the Print Spooler service (Windows) or reboot your Mac.

 

5. Run HP App

 

6. Update Printer Firmware

 

7. Re-add the Printer

  • Remove the printer from your device’s printer list.
  • Add it again using Wi-Fi setup (not USB).
