Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.
HP Recommended

I have tried printing an email and even though my printer is ready to print and connected to wi-fi nothing printed and there was nothing in the print queue. The printer made a noise as it always does when I pressed print on my laptop as though it was about to print but nothing printed. I turned printer off and back on and tried again but still no joy and still nothing in print queue. I then unplugged router and switched printer off left it for 60 seconds and plugged router and switched printer back on but issue still remains. This has never happened before and I am a loss as to why. Any help would be appreciated

Hi @Fuzzylogic,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing issues with your printer not printing, even though it appears to make the usual noises and shows as connected to Wi-Fi. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:

Check Printer Status:

  • Ensure the printer is turned on and connected to your wireless network.

  • Verify that the printer is set as the default printer on your computer. On Windows, you can do this by going to "Printers & Scanners" settings, selecting your printer, and choosing "Set as Default." On macOS, check in "Printers & Scanners" under System Preferences.

Network Connection:

  • Confirm that the Wi-Fi light on the printer is solid, indicating a connection to the network.

  • Make sure your computer is connected to the same network as your printer.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart both the router and printer. Turn off both devices, then turn on the router first, followed by the printer.

Run Wireless Network Test:

  • Many printers have an option to print a Wireless Network Test report. This can help identify connectivity issues. Check your printer's manual or settings menu for instructions.

Printer Queue and Settings:

  • Clear any possible lingering print jobs. Open the print queue on your computer and cancel any jobs that might be stuck.

  • Make sure that there are no paused print jobs preventing new ones from starting. Check the printer status in the printing queue to ensure it's set to "Use Printer Online" (Windows) or that Jobs Stopped is off (macOS).

Check for Errors:

  • Look for and resolve any error messages on the printer's control panel.

Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Uninstall and reinstall the printer drivers. You can download the latest drivers from Official HP® Support for your printer model.

Access the Embedded Web Server:

  • If issues persist, you might check the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS) to ensure it's properly recognised on the network. Access it using the network URL assigned to the printer.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.
