I have an HP OfficeJet 5200 series printer. I use a MAC. Over the weekend, I upgraded my Verizon router. My Mac is connected to the same network as my printer. The light is solid blue on the printer and the HP smart app shows that the printer is Ready . when I try to print a document, the print job spools with a note that the Printer is not responding. When I tried to print from the HP website, the printer worked. I have rebooted all devices.
Any suggestions?

Hi @AMLERY,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like you're experiencing connectivity issues between your Mac and your HP OfficeJet 5200 series printer after upgrading your Verizon router. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:
Check Network Connection:
- Ensure that your Mac is still connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your printer and your new Verizon router.
Restart Devices:
- Turn off both your Mac and your HP OfficeJet printer.
- Turn them back on after a minute or so. Sometimes, a simple reboot can resolve connectivity issues.
Verify Printer Status:
- Make sure the solid blue light on your HP OfficeJet 5200 indicates that it's connected to the Wi-Fi network properly.
- Print a network configuration page from the printer to check its IP address and confirm it's on the same network as your Mac.
Printer Software Update:
- Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware or software updates. Visit the HP support website and search for your printer model to download and install any available updates.
Reinstall Printer on Your Mac:
- Go to "System Preferences" on your Mac.
- Click on "Printers & Scanners."
- Select your HP OfficeJet printer and remove it by clicking the '-' (minus) button.
- Then, click the '+' (plus) button to re-add the printer. Follow the on-screen instructions to add it back.
Firewall and Security Software:
- Check if any firewall or security software on your Mac is blocking communication with the printer. Temporarily disable or configure them to allow printer communication.
Router Settings:
- Log into your Verizon router's web interface (usually by typing the router's IP address in a web browser).
- Check the router settings to ensure that it's not blocking any traffic to or from the printer. Look for settings related to network security, firewall, and port forwarding.
IP Address Assignment:
- Consider setting a static IP address for your printer within your router's settings to ensure it always has the same IP.
Reset Network Settings on Printer:
- Consult your printer's manual to see if there's a way to reset its network settings. This can sometimes resolve stubborn connectivity issues.
HP Print and Scan Doctor:
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor utility from the HP website. It can automatically diagnose and resolve common printing problems.
By following these steps, you should be able to diagnose and resolve the issue with your HP OfficeJet 5200 series printer not responding to print jobs from your Mac after upgrading your router.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
