I recently bought a MacBook Pro (13-inch, M1, 2020) I have been trying to add an HP CP1025nw printer I have on a home network wired to the router. Apparently it can be done only via the HP App. However the app does not detect the printer even though it is on and shows on the routers LAN list. I use WiFi connection to the router from the MacBook. I also observe that this not an issue with MacBook alone. Even the HP App on my iPhone does not detect the printer, It used to previously!

 

HP Smart does not find the printer even when I search by its IP address. however when the IP address is used in Safari it connects to the printer's interface!

 

Please Help! and help in setting up my printer would be welcome.

Hi,

Try following the Resolution section below, I believe this should help, your printer is not supported on HP Smart on a Mac computer, but below steps should allow installing and using your printer using HP Utility:

Hi Shlomil,

 

Thank you for the response. I did as in the Resolution section, however the driver package would not open! an error message ""HewlettPackardPrinterDrivers.pkg" cannot be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software. This software needs to be updated. Contact the developer for more information" pops up.

 

pls advice.
