I am unable to get my printer connected to my network. This has been an on-again/off-again problem for a while, but at this point, I can't get it back online. I've done a factory reset, hard reboot, and have followed all steps suggested in previous posts from 2020.  At this point, no matter how many times I go through the steps to connect, it fails, and the Wireless Network Test Results report shows "No Filtering." Help needed.

@EugeneUser, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand you are not able to connect the printer to the wireless network.

The printer cannot be connected to a guest network. You will have to use a personal wireless router or a personal network.

On the printer screen, go to Setup > Network Setup > Restore network settings

Go back to Network > Wireless > Wireless setup wizard and select your network.

  • Make sure the printer and the computer are connected to the same wireless network. Either 2.4 or 5GHz network.
  • If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both networks.
  • This printer supports WPA encryption, check if the router is on the same encryption method. If using WEP or WPA-PSK+FT change it to WPA-PSK

If you do not have access to a wireless router, use a USB cable or Wifi-Direct option.

Refer to - HP printer setup (Wi-Fi Direct)

Note: There will be no internet connection on the computer while using this option.

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes

I have done all of that. I can get the printer connected, and on occasion, it holds, then for some reason, won't connect, or connects but soon looses connection.

@EugeneUser

  • Do you have a personal wireless router?
  • Are you using a Win PC or a Mac?
  • Do you get any errors while trying to connect?

Keep me posted for further assistance.

I also had the ‘fail’ for ‘no filtering’ in the wireless test report for my D110 printer. The printer was showing as connected but offline. That led me on multiple internet research dead ends. I was sure it was something to do with encryption as temporarily turning of the authentication requirement got the printer to appear on my iPad.

What fixed it for me was changing the wireless encryption to ‘TKIP+AES’ in the router. It was just ‘AES’.

The encryption on the printer test report says AES or TKIP,  but I guess it actually needs the TKIP.

Connection failed, and print out the report.
