Hi @Raffie412,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When your printer shows as offline and there's an issue with the print spooler, it usually indicates a problem with the communication between your computer and the printer. Here's how to troubleshoot and fix this issue:

1. Restart Printer and Computer

  • Turn off your printer and computer.
  • Wait for a minute, then turn them back on.
  • Allow them to boot up completely.

2. Check Printer Connections

  • Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your computer via USB cable or network connection.
  • For wireless printers, make sure they are connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.

3. Check Print Spooler Service

  • Press Win + R to open the Run dialog box.
  • Type services.msc and press Enter to open the Services window.
  • Scroll down and locate the "Print Spooler" service.
  • Right-click on it and select "Restart" from the context menu.
  • If the service is stopped, right-click on it and select "Start".

4. Clear Print Spooler Queue

  • Open the Services window as described above.
  • Stop the Print Spooler service.
  • Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS (replace C with the drive where your Windows is installed).
  • Delete all files in this folder.
  • Restart the Print Spooler service.

5. Set Print Spooler to Automatic

  • In the Services window, right-click on the "Print Spooler" service and select "Properties".
  • Set the "Startup type" to "Automatic" and click OK.

6. Update Printer Drivers

  • Ensure that you have the latest drivers for your printer installed on your computer.
  • Visit the manufacturer's website to download and install the latest drivers if needed.

7. Disable Use Printer Offline

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click on your printer and uncheck the "Use Printer Offline" option.

8. Check Firewall/Antivirus Settings

  • Sometimes, firewall or antivirus software can block the communication between your computer and printer. Temporarily disable them and check if the issue persists.

9. Restart Print Spooler Service Automatically (Advanced)

  • Open Notepad and paste the following:
  • Save the file with a .bat extension (e.g., RestartSpooler.bat).
  • Right-click on the file and select "Run as administrator". This will automatically restart the Print Spooler service.

10. Reinstall Printer

  • If none of the above steps work, try removing the printer from your computer and reinstalling it

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
