Hi @gchambe459 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e printer is struggling to recognize your new 6GHz router and remains offline even when connected via Ethernet. Let's go through some steps to troubleshoot the issue:

Steps to Troubleshoot:

Check Printer and Router Compatibility:

  • Your new router is a 6GHz router (likely Wi-Fi 6E), but the OfficeJet Pro 8025e may not support 6GHz. Most printers are limited to 2.4GHz or 5GHz Wi-Fi bands. Ensure that your router has a 2.4GHz or 5GHz band enabled and try to connect your printer to that band.

Re-add the Printer on Windows:

  • Sometimes the printer needs to be re-added to the network after a change in the router.
    1. Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
    2. Select your OfficeJet Pro 8025e and Remove device.
    3. Now, add the printer again by clicking Add a printer or scanner.

Reconfigure the Wireless Settings:

  • You might need to reconfigure the printer's wireless settings to connect to the new network:
    1. On the printer control panel, go to Network Setup > Wireless Settings.
    2. Select Wireless Setup Wizard and follow the on-screen prompts to connect to your new Wi-Fi network.
    3. Make sure you select the 2.4GHz or 5GHz network during the setup.

Update Printer Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Ensure your printer has the latest firmware. Since it's connected via Ethernet, you can check for updates:
    1. On the printer’s control panel, go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Update the Printer.

Check Printer Status on Windows:

  • Make sure the printer is not set to "Offline" on your PC:
    1. Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
    2. Right-click your OfficeJet 8025e and ensure Use Printer Offline is unchecked.

Restart Printer Spooler:

  • If the printer is still offline, restarting the print spooler might help:
    1. Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
    2. Scroll down and find Print Spooler, right-click it, and select Restart.

If Wireless Printing Still Fails:

  • You may want to try using a USB cable to set up the printer directly to your PC as a temporary fix. After the USB setup, you can try configuring the Wi-Fi connection again.
