Have owned a HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 for about 3 years, set up on wi-fi printing only. Recently printer would show "as offline" on my laptop but was still able to print off someone elses laptop. Unplugged printer, plugged back in, disconnected from wi-fi network, unplugged router and restarted/re-connected everything without success. Printer will no longer print from any device (iPhone, laptop, computer, tablet). Very frustrating and online manual is no help. Any advice how we can fix this issue??
Thank you!

Hi @Lisa470,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
We understand that your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 All-in-One Printer is showing as offline on your laptop, despite previously functioning correctly over Wi-Fi. You've already attempted several troubleshooting steps, including restarting your printer, router, and devices, but the issue persists. We're here to assist you in resolving this matter.
1. Power Cycle Your Devices
To reset the network connections:
- Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Turn off your router and unplug it as well.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Plug in and turn on your router; wait until it's fully operational.
- Plug in and turn on your printer.
- Ensure your laptop is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your printer.
2. Check Printer's Network Connection
- On the printer's control panel, touch the Wireless icon to view the network status.
- If not connected, navigate to Settings > Network Setup > Wireless Settings, and run the Wireless Setup Wizard to reconnect your printer to your Wi-Fi network.
3. Update Printer Firmware
Outdated firmware can cause connectivity issues:
- Visit the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.
- Enter your printer model and download the latest firmware update.
- Install the firmware following the on-screen instructions.
4. Reinstall Printer Drivers on Your Laptop
Corrupted drivers can lead to an offline status:
- On your laptop, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 and select Remove device.
- Visit the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.
- Download and install the latest full-feature software and drivers for your printer model.
