Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

My hp deskjet 2700e is always offline. I have followed the instructions, ie unplugged the router and printer and computer. I have reset the printer using the 2 buttons as instructed and also used the diagnostic tool on HP smart, all to no avail. i suspect the printer may therefore need updating.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand how frustrating it can be when your HP DeskJet 2700e printer keeps showing as offline despite following the recommended steps. Let's work together to get this resolved.

Here are some additional steps you can try:

Ensure Printer is Connected to the Same Network

Make sure your printer and computer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. You can confirm this by printing a Wireless Network Test Report:

  1. Press the Information button (i) and the Wireless button together on the printer.
  2. A report will print showing the network status and IP address.

If the printer is not connected, follow this guide to reconnect it to Wi-Fi.

Set Printer to Online Manually (Windows)

  1. Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  2. Right-click your HP DeskJet 2700e and select See what's printing.
  3. In the new window, click Printer in the top menu.
  4. Uncheck Use Printer Offline if it's selected.

Assign a Static IP Address

Sometimes, assigning a static IP helps maintain a stable connection:

  1. Type the printer’s IP address into a web browser to open the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
  2. Go to Network > Wireless (802.11) and select IPv4 Configuration.
  3. Choose Manual IP, enter the current IP, subnet mask, and default gateway.
  4. Click Apply.

Update Printer Firmware

Outdated firmware can cause connectivity issues. Here's how to update:

Reinstall the Printer

  1. Remove the printer from Devices and Printers.
  2. Open HP Smart, click the + to add a new printer, and follow the prompts.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
