  • We recently changed the password for our Wi-Fi but now our printer is offline. Seems like it should be a simple fix to change the password on the printer? But HP support, the web, and the manual are of no help. Can someone provide an answer please?

Hi @Robyprinter,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you changed your Wi-Fi password; you also need to update this information on your connected devices, including your printer. Here’s how you can update the Wi-Fi settings on your HP printer to reflect a new password:

Control Panel Method:

  • Find the Wireless Button: Locate the wireless button or the network settings icon on your printer's control panel.

  • Access Settings: Touch or press this button to access the network or wireless settings menu.

  • Select Wireless Setup Wizard: Navigate through the menu and select the "Wireless Setup Wizard" option.

  • Choose Your Network: The printer will display a list of available networks. Select your Wi-Fi network from the list.

  • Enter New Password: When prompted, enter the new Wi-Fi password.

Using HP App (if supported):

Using Printer Software (for Windows and macOS):

  • Access Printer Setup: On your computer, go to the HP software suite, often named something like "HP Printer Assistant" or "HP Utility" (on Mac).

  • Change Network Settings: Locate the network or HP wireless settings section and update it with the new Wi-Fi password.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Hi Jerry, we plugged the router into the printer and we're able to print from the computer but we have not been able to access the settings on the HP utility software on the computer or the HP app on my phone because it's says it's not connected and it won't display the settings for us to change the password on either device. Is there a way to get someone on the phone to help or what do you recommend? Thank you, Nancy
