Hi @Rocketbud,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like your printer is trying to access a dynamic XML file related to device management. This could be a normal background operation, but it's unusual for it to happen daily and could be indicative of an issue.
Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the situation,
- Check Printer Software: Ensure that you have the latest drivers and firmware installed for your HP OfficeJet Pro K8600. Visit the official HP website to download and install the latest drivers.
- Check for Viruses or Malware: Perform a thorough antivirus and anti-malware scan on your computer to rule out any malicious activities. Sometimes, malware can cause unusual network activities.
- Firewall Settings: Check your firewall settings to ensure that they are not blocking any legitimate communication between your printer and the computer.
- Network Configuration: Even though your printer is connected via USB, it might still have network-related functionalities. Check the printer settings to ensure that it is configured correctly, and there are no unexpected network connections.
- Windows Event Viewer: Check the Windows Event Viewer for any related events or errors around the time when the issue occurs. This might provide more details about what's happening.
- Update Windows: Ensure that your Windows operating system is up-to-date. Sometimes, issues like this can be resolved with system updates.
- Printer Reset: You can also try resetting the printer to its default settings. Refer to your printer manual for instructions on how to perform a reset.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
