Printer prints a status report and WI_FI Network Results. No Errors, Connected on line to correct network. Computer is connected to the same network. When I attempt to print from the computer, the printer awakens, makes noise, but does not print. There are no items in the que. Why will it not print?

Hi @Larry777771,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for the detailed info! Since your HP Smart Tank 7602 is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network and wakes up when you try to print, but nothing prints and there's nothing in the queue, here are the most likely causes and how to fix them:

1. Restart Everything

  • Turn off your printer, wait 10 seconds, and turn it back on.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Restart your Wi-Fi router, especially if other devices are also affected.

2. Check Printer Status in Windows

  1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
  2. Click on your HP Smart Tank 7602.
  3. Make sure it says "Ready" under the name.

If it says “Offline” or “Paused”, click Open print queue > Printer (menu), and uncheck Pause printing or Use Printer Offline if selected.

3. Run the Windows Printer Troubleshooter

  1. Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
  2. Find Printer and click Run.

Let it check for issues with the driver, queue, and connectivity.

4. Reinstall the HP Printer Completely

  1. Go to Settings > Printers & scanners.
  2. Click the printer > Remove device.
  3. Download the full-feature driver/software from HP Smart Tank 7602 All-in-One Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support).
  4. Install the driver and reconnect the printer when prompted.

Avoid using only Windows’ built-in driver—it can cause the symptoms you described.

5. Clear and Reset the Print Spooler (Advanced)

  1. Press Windows + R, type services.msc, press Enter.
  2. Find Print Spooler, right-click → Stop.
  3. Navigate to: C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS
    • Delete everything in this folder (you may need admin permission).
  4. Go back to services, right-click Print SpoolerStart.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
