Welcome to the HP Community --

One solution is shown in the image you posted.

Open HP Smart (Windows app)

Go to Settings

Open section "Advanced" (left column)

Advanced opens the Embedded Web Server (EWS)

General Example - HP Smart - Windows - Menu

Note:  Your menu options might be different from those shown in the sample.

HP_Smart_Win_Main_Menu_4HP_Smart_Win_Main_Menu_4

 EWS - Tools - Samples

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Tools > Printer Information

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Tools > Supply Status

Optional (at bottom of webpage) > Print Printer Status Report

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Tools > Reports > Usage Report

To Print the Report:  EWS > Tools > Printer Reports > Print Usage Report

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Tools > Utilities > Print Quality Toolbox

What else?

If you dislike or cannot use the Embedded Web Server option,

(then)

Consider using the HP Smart "Reset" option.

If the reset does not work by itself, you have the option to uninstall / reinstall the HP Smart application.

Example - HP Smart - Windows - Application Reset / Reinstall

How do I get to the reset option on Windows 11?  THANKS!

Edits / Update

None of what I am suggesting is a Windows Reset for Windows 11.

The suggestions are only an App reset in Settings > Apps > Installed Apps > HP Smart.

If you get to the point where you are considering Reset of your Windows Operating System, you are outside of the scope of this thread.

Original Content

OK...

The source of the problem  perhaps lies deeper in the app or the connection of the printer to your network.

If you  have not done so, consider the solutions offered in the Reset / Reinstall section of my first post.

================== =====================

- Printer Application - HP Smart – Check / Reset -

Reminder

It is important that every device is using the latest version of the HP Smart app for that device type.

Check / Update >> Every device (computer(s) and mobile) where HP Smart is installed should be running the latest version of the HP Smart application available for that device platform (Operating System / Version).

That might be enough…

Start here:

Restart Everything, including the router that controls your network

That might be enough (at least short term) -- check...

Next,

Windows

Check / Run Windows Updates > Install any pending updates

Next,

If not previously completed,

Restart everything, including the router that controls your network.

Can’t stand it?  Consider:  Restart computer(s) and printer.

Next,

Open and Check HP Smart

If the HP Smart opens but does not work or hangs partly open:  Close the HP Smart App

If you cannot close HP Smart: Restart the computer and log in

Do not start the HP Smart yet

No Joy?

Reset HP Smart Application - Windows

Next,

Reset the HP Smart application - This action removes the app data.

Windows 10 -

Settings > Apps > Apps and Features

Windows 11 -

Settings > Apps > Installed Apps

Next,

Search / Find HP Smart in the apps list

Open Advanced options > Reset the app

Restart the computer and log in

Open HP Smart > Sign in > Add Printer(s)

If the app Reset does not work by itself,

Next,

Uninstall the HP Smart App from Settings > Apps > Apps and Features / Installed Apps

Restart the computer and log in

“Get” a new copy of the HP Smart application from the Microsoft Store

Open HP Smart > Sign in > Add Printer(s)

Still Rubbish

FYI only

If nothing else works – Consider --

Uninstall the HP Smart app from your Windows computer > Restart the computer and log in

AND

While connected to the same (home / office) network as your computer,

Uninstall the HP Smart app from other device(s) on your network

After the app is removed > Restart the device (for example, iPad, iPhone)

Next,

Repeat for each mobile device where you want to install the HP Smart application:

Install the HP Smart app on the mobile device

Start HP Smart app > Sign into the app > Add printer(s)

Next,

Restart the computer and log in

Install a fresh copy of the HP Smart application for Windows

Update - Edits

For those reading --

The app reset would normally clear app data and allow uninstall / reinstall of the HP Smart app.

That said, installing the HP Smart application in Windows must follow certain general guidelines.

The how-to information is printed here as FYI only.

True - none of the installation information identifies the error code reported by @oohansel

No idea - I don't have any information on that error code.

It's acting like there is a problem with the app data - which should have been removed during the Reset of the app.

Might be an issue with the app version - possibly there is a conflict with the same app but different version installed on a different device.

Following the suggestions, the other "restart all" and check Windows updates would be done by now, too.

I tried to install the app again today and installed it.

However, I still can't print reports.

I'm on Windows 11, with its latest update, perhaps that's the issue?
