HP DeskJet 2752e All-in-One Printer

I got this printer from previous owener. I tried to set up the printer and it won't set up. I tried to connect the wifi and it keeps saying wrong password, as I use the pin number on the printer label by SN. can someone know how I can fix this problem?

Hi @Suemoon1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

I understand that you are having issues with the printer setup.

When setting up your HP DeskJet 2752e All-In-One Printer and encountering issues with Wi-Fi connectivity due to incorrect password prompts, it’s important to ensure that you are entering the correct Wi-Fi network password (not the printer's PIN or SN). Here's a step-by-step guide to help you set up your printer:

Step 1: Prepare for Setup

Check Network Requirements:

  • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is a 2.4 GHz network (most home networks are).
  • Make sure your computer or mobile device is connected to the same network.

Power On the Printer:

  • Ensure the printer is turned on and is in a ready state.

Reset Network Settings on Printer:

  • To ensure a fresh start, reset the network settings on your printer. Press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button on the printer until the Power button starts flashing, then release the buttons. The Wireless light will blink, indicating the printer is in setup mode.

Step 2: Connect to Wi-Fi Using the HP Smart App

Download and Install HP Smart App:

  • Download the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device from the HP Smart website or your device's app store.

Open HP Smart App:

  • Open the HP Smart app and create or sign in to your HP account.

Add Your Printer:

  • Click on the “Add Printer” button.
  • The app will search for printers in setup mode. Select your HP DeskJet 2752e from the list.

Enter Wi-Fi Network Details:

  • When prompted, enter the correct Wi-Fi network password (not the PIN from the printer label). This is the same password you use to connect your other devices to your Wi-Fi network.

Step 3: Complete Setup

Follow On-Screen Instructions:

  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup process. The app will guide you through connecting the printer to the Wi-Fi network.

Print a Test Page:

  • After the setup is complete, print a test page to ensure the printer is connected and working properly.

Kindly check the next set of steps in the next post

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @Suemoon1,

Please find the next set of steps below.

Troubleshooting Tips

Double-Check Wi-Fi Password:

  • Make sure you are entering the correct Wi-Fi password. The password is case-sensitive, so ensure you are using the correct capitalization.

Move Printer Closer to Router:

  • Ensure the printer is within range of your Wi-Fi router to avoid connectivity issues.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart your printer, computer or mobile device, and router to refresh the connection.

Disable VPN:

  • If you are using a VPN, disable it during the setup process as it may interfere with the connection.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Once connected, check for any firmware updates for your printer through the HP Smart app.

If the issue persists, you can try setting up the printer using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS):

Step 4: Connect Using WPS (Optional)

Prepare Printer for WPS Connection:

  • Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer for three seconds until the wireless light starts blinking.

Activate WPS on Router:

  • Within two minutes, press the WPS button on your router. The printer should automatically connect to the network.
