Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After attempting to reinstall HP software after printer stopped functioning, my system repeatedly failed boot sequence, generating multiple errors. I was forced to boot from external media, and run Windows repair tool, and removing ALL HP drivers and software from the system in safe mode. After all this, the system rebooted normally. Now my printer is a useless POS gathering dust. How does this issue get addressed?

@dzadzey, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand you had to reboot the computer from external media after installing the HP Printer driver. This is rather surprising. HP Software will not/have never affected Win OS.

Did you download the printer driver from the HP Support site?

Scan the system for viruses.

Click here to download the HP Full-feature driver.

Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.

Alternatively, if you do not wish to install the HP Software again, install the printer using Windows built-in driver(limited functionality)

Refer to this document to know how. Try printing. Use Deskjet 990c driver if your printer is not listed.

Refer to this document HP printer setup (Windows built-in driver) for help.

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.
