I have a SmartTank 675 and for some reason it turns on by itself in the mornings usually every 7-10 days. Since the printer is in my room its obviously disturbing for it to wake you up at 7am. I have checked every setting on the HP Smart app but I cant find anything related to an autostart or something similar. Also the devices connected to the printer are either off or not connected to Wifi at that time of the day so there's nothing that would make the printer turn on. I would appreciate any help regarding this problem.
Thanks in advance.

Hi @kchal, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP Smart Tank 675 is performing an automatic maintenance routine that periodically powers it on. Many modern HP printers turn on automatically to clean printheads or perform self-checks to prevent ink from drying out.
Possible Causes & Fixes:
Wake on Schedule (Auto Maintenance)
- HP printers sometimes turn on by themselves for maintenance.
- Fix: Unfortunately, this feature is embedded in the firmware and cannot be disabled.
Network Activity (Wake on LAN)
- Some printers turn on when they detect activity on the network.
- Fix: Try disabling Wi-Fi Direct from the Embedded Web Server (EWS):
- Open a web browser and enter your printer's IP address.
- Go to Network Settings > Wi-Fi Direct.
- Disable Wi-Fi Direct if you don’t use it.
Smart Tasks / Scheduled Jobs
- Check if there are any scheduled print jobs.
- Fix: Open the HP Smart App > Printer Settings and look for any scheduled tasks.
Power Settings (Energy Saver)
- Some HP printers power cycle to refresh settings.
- Fix: Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, select your printer, and check if there’s an auto power-on setting.
Firmware Issue
- If this is a bug, an update might fix it.
- Fix: Update your firmware:
- Open HP Smart App.
- Click Printer Settings > Advanced Settings (EWS).
- Go to Tools > Printer Updates and check for updates.
Workaround:
- If this is too disturbing, consider plugging the printer into a smart plug and turning it off at night.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
