If you're encountering a "Printer Validation Failed" error while setting up your HP Smart Tank 7602 on an HP laptop, follow these troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

Step 1: Check the Basics

  • Ensure the Printer is On: Make sure your printer is turned on and connected to a power source.
  • Check Connections: Verify that the printer is properly connected to your network or computer, either via Wi-Fi or a USB cable, depending on how you intend to set it up.

Step 2: Restart Devices

  • Restart the Printer: Turn off your printer, wait a minute, and then turn it back on.
  • Restart the Laptop: Reboot your HP laptop to refresh any potentially problematic configurations.

Step 3: Use the HP Smart App

  • Download and Open HP Smart App: If you haven't already, download the HP Smart app on your HP laptop.
  • Re-add the Printer: Use the app to add your printer and follow the on-screen instructions. Ensure your laptop is connected to the same network as the printer.

Step 4: Re-install Printer Drivers

  • Uninstall Existing Drivers: Open the "Devices and Printers" section on your laptop, right-click your printer, and select "Remove device."
  • Download Updated Drivers: Go to the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for the HP Smart Tank 7602.
  • Install the Drivers: Run the downloaded driver installation and follow the prompts to complete the setup.

Step 5: Network Configuration

  • Wi-Fi Setup Mode: If you're using a wireless connection, ensure that your printer is in Wi-Fi setup mode.
  • Ensure Same Network: Confirm that both your printer and laptop are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Step 6: Reset Printer Network Settings

  • Reset Wi-Fi Settings: Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on your printer for 3 seconds to reinitiate the wireless setup.

Hope this helps!
