@lee1922, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

We see that your HP DeskJet Plus Ink Advantage 6475 is showing the "Printer needs your attention" notification but won't print, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

Check for Paper Jams

  • Open the printer and inspect for any paper jams. Even small bits of paper can cause this error.
  • Ensure the paper tray is not overloaded and that the paper is correctly aligned.

Check Ink Cartridges

  • Make sure the ink cartridges are properly installed. Remove and reinsert them to ensure they’re seated correctly.
  • Check the ink levels; if they are low or empty, replace the cartridges as needed.

Restart the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it for about 60 seconds. Then plug it back in and turn it on. This can reset the printer’s internal functions.

Check for Error Messages

  • Look for any error codes or messages on the printer display (if applicable). These can provide specific clues about what might be wrong.

Reinstall Printer Drivers

  • Go to your computer's "Devices and Printers" section, remove the printer, and reinstall it using the latest drivers from the HP website or via the HP Smart app.

Check the Printer Queue

  • Open the printer queue on your computer and ensure there are no stuck print jobs. Clear any stuck jobs and try printing again.

Perform a Printer Reset

  • Press the power button to turn off the printer. If the printer does not turn off, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the power source.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Connect the power cord directly to a wall outlet and to the printer.
  • Turn on the printer to complete the reset.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
