We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

HP printer will not print documents from computer.  I have tried both wi-fi and direct cable connections.  the wi-fi light will not stay blue.  Check networks and the printer is on its own network and I cannot hook it by to the house network.

Hi @Revestoke5,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP LaserJet M209dw will not print from your Mac mini, and you’re unable to keep it connected to your home Wi-Fi network. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Reset the printer’s network settings
Turn the printer on.
Press and hold the Cancel (X) button and Wireless button together for about 5 seconds until the blue light starts blinking.
This clears the printer’s current network and prepares it for setup.

Restart your network equipment
Power off your router and modem for 60 seconds, then turn them back on.
Wait until the internet connection is fully restored before continuing.

Reconnect the printer using HP Smart on Mac
On your Mac mini, open the HP Smart app.
Select Add Printer or Set up a new printer and follow the on-screen steps to connect the printer to your home Wi-Fi network.

Ensure the printer is not creating its own Wi-Fi Direct network
If the printer is on its own network, it is likely in Wi-Fi Direct mode.
Completing the setup through HP Smart will move it from Wi-Fi Direct to your home network.

Check the wireless status light
A solid blue light means the printer is connected to Wi-Fi.
A blinking blue light means it is not connected and needs to be set up again.

Test with a USB connection during setup
If Wi-Fi setup fails, connect the printer to the Mac using a USB cable when prompted by HP Smart.
This allows the app to pass Wi-Fi credentials to the printer.

Remove and re-add the printer on macOS
Go to System Settings → Printers & Scanners, remove the HP LaserJet M209dw, then add it again.
When adding, make sure it appears as AirPrint or HP LaserJet M209dw, not as a generic printer.

I hope this helps.
