My printer has stopped connecting to the internet WiFi. I can’t print any documents off from my iPhone. I have tried the wps button, turning printer off and on and still not communicating.

@Jbpe34, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

I understand how frustrating it can be when your HP printer suddenly stops connecting to Wi-Fi. Let’s walk through a few steps to get it back online and printing from your iPhone.

Restart Everything

  • Power off your printer, router, and iPhone.
  • Wait 30 seconds, then power them back on, starting with the router, then the printer, and finally your iPhone.

Check Wi-Fi Connection

  • Make sure your printer is within range of the Wi-Fi router.
  • Confirm your Wi-Fi network is working by checking internet access on your iPhone.

Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi

Depending on your printer model, use one of the following methods:

Using HP Smart App/HP App (Recommended)

  1. Download the HP app from HP App – For HP Printers, Laptops, and Tech Accessories | HP® India
  2. Open the app and tap “+” to add your printer.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to reconnect your printer to Wi-Fi.

Using Wireless Setup Wizard (for printers with display)

  1. On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Network Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard.
  2. Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.

Using WPS (if supported)

  1. Press the WPS button on your router.
  2. Within 2 minutes, press and hold the Wireless button on your printer until it starts blinking.

Reset Network Settings (if needed)

If the above steps don’t work:

  • Restore your printer’s network settings to default:
    • On most HP printers: Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons together until the power light blinks.
  • Then retry connecting using HP Smart or Wireless Setup Wizard.

Ensure iPhone and Printer Are on Same Network

  • Your iPhone must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the printer to print via AirPrint or HP Smart.
