@Mf252, Welcome to the HP Support Community – it’s great to have you here!

I appreciate you taking the time to share your question. I'm more than happy to assist with this and provide a solution that works for you.

If your HP printer was previously connected to Wi-Fi and suddenly stopped, here are some steps to help you reconnect and get back to printing:

Power Cycle Devices

  • Turn off your printer.
  • Unplug your router for 30 seconds, then plug it back in.
  • Wait for the router to fully restart.
  • Turn the printer back on.

Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi

Depending on your printer model, follow one of these methods:

For touchscreen printers:

  • Go to Setup > Network Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard.
  • Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.

For button-only printers (like DeskJet 2700 series):

  • Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons together until the Power light blinks.
  • Then press and hold the Wireless button until the light starts blinking.
  • Within 2 minutes, press the WPS button on your router.

Use HP Smart App (Recommended)

  • Download the HP Smart app from HP Smart Official Site. HP Smart
  • Open the app and click Set up a new printer.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to reconnect your printer to Wi-Fi.

Reset Network Settings (if needed)

If the printer still won’t connect:

  • Restore network defaults from the printer’s control panel.
  • Then retry the Wireless Setup Wizard or HP Smart setup.

Check Router Settings

  • Ensure your router is broadcasting on 2.4 GHz, which some HP printers use.
  • Disable MAC address filtering or parental controls temporarily.

Final Tip

Once connected, print a Wireless Network Test Report from the printer’s settings to confirm signal strength and connection status.
