I recently had to replace my modem (same provider) and now can't get my printer connected to my home network. I have tried connecting direct to my pc but it won't recognize it.

Follow these steps to troubleshoot and reconnect the printer:

Reset Network Settings on the Printer:

  • Restore the printer’s network settings to factory defaults to clear any previous network information.
  • Procedure:
    • Press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button on the printer simultaneously for 3 seconds. This will initiate the network settings reset.

Reinstall HP Smart App:

Reconnect Using HP Smart App:

  • Open the HP Smart app on your computer.
  • Click Set Up a New Printer or Add Printer.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your new Wi-Fi network.

Steps for Connecting the Printer Wirelessly:

Preparation:

  • Make sure your printer is powered on.
  • Place the printer close to the modem/router to ensure a strong signal during setup.

Connect to Wi-Fi Network:

Using HP Smart App:

  • Open the HP Smart app.
  • Click on the printer icon, then click Network Settings.
  • Follow the guided steps to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.

HP Smart App

Using WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup):

  • On your printer, press and hold the Wireless button for 3 seconds.
  • On your modem/router, press the WPS button within 2 minutes.
  • Wait for a few minutes while the printer connects to the network.

Hardwired Connection Troubleshooting:

Check USB Connection:

  • Ensure the USB cable is properly connected between your printer and computer.
  • Try using a different USB port on your computer to rule out port issues.

Reinstall Printer Driver:

Restart Devices:

  • Restart your printer and computer to refresh connections.
