We have recently got a new wifi network so I am trying, and failing, to connect my HP Envy Pro 6400 printer to the network.
The printer is flashing purple and is in set up mode, no other lights showing on the panel. During the process of the printer connecting to the network, it knocks out the wifi connection on my laptop and the printer is stuck in set up mode. After a
few minutes I get a message to say it was unable to connect to network.
I've tried everything over the last few days, and been through all the advise on printer set up, network connections....
Any help, suggestions welcomed. Oh, and I've tried pressing the WPS on the router.
Thank you.

Hi @jch10
Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand that you are facing an issue with your HP ENVY Pro 6430 All-In-One Printer. Don't worry, together we will try to sort this out.
Much appreciate the steps you have taken to resolve the issue so far. 😊
I would suggest you please try these steps and please do not skip them even if you feel it'sthe repetitive.
configure wireless after changing router or ISP
We recommended you use the HP Smart app to reconnect your printer.
You need the network name and network password to reconfigure the printer. If you don't know them follow these instructions.
- Make sure the printer is near the Wi-Fi router, paper is loaded in the main tray, and that it is turned on.
- On your Windows computer, open Printers & Scanners and delete the printer.
- Open the HP Smart app, and sign in. If you do not have HP Smart, download it from 123.hp.com or your app store, and create an HP account.
- Prepare the printer by resetting the network settings to default.
- On HP Envy 6000, Press and hold the Wireless button on the back of the printer for five seconds until the Edge lighting flashes purple. It might take several attempts before the lighting flashes.
- Within two hours, follow the guided steps in the HP Smart app to add the printer and set up the wireless connection.
Follow these instructions to reconnect your printer using Wi-Fi Direct or a temporary USB connection.
Please perform these steps and Feel free to reply to your public post for any further assistance.
