Hi @BK1651,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your new printer connects to Wi-Fi but does not appear when you try to add it on your devices. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Confirm the printer and device are on the same network
Make sure your phone, tablet, or computer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the printer (same name, not a guest or extender network).

Restart the printer, router, and device
Turn off the printer, restart your router, and reboot the device you are adding the printer from. This refreshes network discovery.

Check the printer’s wireless status
Print a Network or Wireless Test Report from the printer control panel. Verify the printer shows “Connected” with a valid IP address.

Disable VPNs and mobile data
If using a phone, turn off mobile data and any VPN. These can block local network discovery.

Use HP Smart to add the printer
Open the HP Smart app, remove any existing printer entries, then choose Add Printer or Set Up a New Printer. Follow the on-screen prompts fully.

Allow network discovery on the device
On Windows or macOS, ensure network discovery is turned on and your firewall is not blocking printer discovery.

Try adding the printer by IP address
If the printer does not appear automatically, use the IP address from the network report to add the printer manually.

Reset the printer’s network settings
Restore the printer’s wireless settings and reconnect it to Wi-Fi again. This clears any incomplete setup from first-time installation.

I hope this helps.
