Hi @Sly-fox54,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing a wifi issue

Here are some troubleshooting steps to help resolve the wireless printing issue with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8715:

1. Verify the Printer's Network Connection

  • Confirm that the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your phone.
  • Print a Wireless Network Test Report:
    • Go to the printer's control panel.
    • Tap Setup > Network > Print Network Configuration or Test Wireless Network.
    • Check for any errors or issues in the report.

2. Restart Your Network Devices

  • Restart your modem/router by unplugging it for 30 seconds and plugging it back in.
  • Restart your phone and the printer after the network is back online.

3. Check the HP Smart App

  • Ensure you’re using the HP Smart app (available for Android and iOS).
  • Open the app and ensure the printer is listed.
  • If not, add the printer by tapping the Add Printer button and following the prompts.

4. Clear Print Queue on Your Phone

  • Check for any stuck print jobs on your phone. Clear the print queue and try printing again.

5. Update Printer Firmware

  • Outdated firmware can cause connectivity issues:
    • Go to the printer’s control panel.
    • Navigate to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Update the Printer.

6. Assign a Static IP Address to the Printer

Sometimes, the printer’s dynamic IP address can cause connection problems:

  • Find the printer’s IP address (from the Network Configuration page).
  • Enter the IP address in a browser to access the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
  • Go to the Network tab, then Wireless > Manual IP.
  • Assign a static IP and save the settings.

7. Try Printing From Another Device

  • Test printing from another phone, tablet, or computer to see if the issue is device-specific.

8. Reset the Printer's Network Settings

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Network > Restore Network Settings.
  • Reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi and try printing again.

9. Reinstall the Printer in the HP Smart App

  • Remove the printer from the app and re-add it:
    • Open HP Smart and delete the printer from the list.
    • Tap Add Printer and follow the steps to reconnect.a

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
