@Patty2943, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds frustrating that your HP Envy 6122e printer is connected but still won’t print. Since you've already done some great troubleshooting steps, let's go through a few more potential fixes to resolve the communication issue between your device and the printer.
🔍 Step-by-Step Fixes to Try
1. Check if Printer is Set to “Offline” or Paused
Sometimes the printer gets stuck in an offline state. On Windows:
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your HP Envy 6122e and select "See what's printing."
- In the new window, click "Printer" and ensure "Use Printer Offline" is unchecked and that it’s not paused.
On Mac:
- Open System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
- Select your printer and click "Open Print Queue."
- Make sure there are no jobs stuck or errors showing.
2. Check Default Printer Setting
Sometimes, the system sends print jobs to the wrong printer (like "Microsoft Print to PDF").
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
- Ensure that HP Envy 6122e is set as your default printer.
3. Clear Print Queue
Jobs might be stuck in the queue, preventing new jobs from printing.
- Open the print queue as described above.
- Right-click any stuck jobs and select "Cancel All Documents."
- Restart both the printer and your PC, then try printing again.
4. Try Printing from HP Smart App
Since your printer supports HP+, the HP Smart App is a key tool for printing.
- Open HP Smart and try printing from there.
- If the app indicates the printer is “offline” or doesn’t respond, try removing and re-adding the printer within the app.
5. Check for Driver or Firmware Updates
Even brand-new printers can require updates to function properly.
- Go to the HP Software and Drivers page.
- Search for Envy 6122e and install the latest full software package (not just the basic driver).
- Check in the HP Smart app for any firmware updates.
6. Disable IPv6 on Printer
IPv6 can sometimes cause issues with certain routers.
- Type the printer’s IP address into a web browser to open the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
- Go to Network > Advanced Settings.
- Disable IPv6, save the changes, and restart the printer.
- Try printing from a different device (another PC, phone, or tablet) using the HP Smart app. If it works on one device but not the other, the issue is likely local to that specific device.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
