Ever since the new firmware update i can no longer use my printer. I've tried everything to get the printer to see the router and nothing! Thanks HP for giving me a glorified paper weight!  Cant even airprint anymore either! Why the Hell would you do this and not have a **bleep** fix right away? Of course you cant even get a hold of anyone to rectify the issue either, what a **bleep** joke of a company!

Printer will not see my router on the wireless network. It’s a HO 6970 all in one printer. I can direct print but that is all and it’s very inconvenient.

I hear your frustration—losing wireless functionality after a firmware update is incredibly inconvenient, especially when AirPrint stops working too. Here are some steps that might help restore your HP OfficeJet Pro 6970’s wireless connection:

Troubleshooting Steps

1. Check Wi-Fi Security Settings

  • Log in to your router settings (usually via 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 in a web browser).
  • Ensure the Wi-Fi security type is set to WPA2-Personal (AES)—some HP printers don’t support WPA3 or mixed WPA2/WPA3 modes.

2. Manually Connect the Printer

  • On the printer’s control panel, tap the Wireless icon.
  • Select Wi-Fi Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard.
  • Find your network and enter the correct Wi-Fi password.

3. Disable IPv6 on Printer

  • Go to Wireless Settings > Advanced Settings on the printer.
  • Disable IPv6 and restart both the printer and router.

4. Update Firmware & Drivers

  • If the firmware update caused the issue, check for another update that might fix it.
  • Download the latest firmware from HP’s official support page here.

5. Use HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • HP has a troubleshooting tool that can detect and fix network issues.
  • Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor here.

6. Restore Network Settings

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Settings > Network Setup > Restore Network Defaults.
  • Reconnect the printer using the Wireless Setup Wizard.

I hope this helps—let me know if you need further guidance! 🚀

Take care, and have an amazing day!
