Hi @Waylonlee,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I hear that your HP printer is showing Something went wrong when trying to print.

Kindly refer to the steps below and check:

Step 1: Force Reset the Windows Print Spooler:

A stalled or stuck print job frequently causes "Something went wrong" errors.

  1. Press the Windows Key + R to open the Run dialog.

  2. Type services.msc and hit Enter.

  3. Scroll down to find Print Spooler, right-click it, and select Stop.

  4. Press Windows Key + E to open File Explorer and navigate to this exact folder: C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS.

  5. Delete all files inside this PRINTERS folder. (Do not delete the folder itself).

  6. Go back to the Services window, right-click Print Spooler, and select Start

Step 2: Complete Network Power Drain:

If you are using a Wi-Fi or networked printer, the connection between your router, PC, and printer might be out of sync.

  1. Unplug the power cable from your Wi-Fi router, the power cord from the back of your printer, and shut down your computer.

  2. Leave all three devices completely disconnected for 3 full minutes.

  3. Plug the router back in and wait until all internet lights are steady.

  4. Turn on the computer, then turn on the printer, and attempt to print again.

Step 3: Re-add the Printer with a Clean IP Address:

If the previous steps do not resolve the error, assigning a manual TCP/IP port often clears up chronic communication errors.

  1. Go to your Windows Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Printers & Scanners.

  2. Select your printer and click Remove Device or Remove.

  3. Re-connect the printer by clicking Add device and letting Windows search for it on your network.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.

I'm an HP Employee.
