No, if you have an empty toner on not installed toner ( any colour) in colour laser printer it will stop working until the empty/missing toner is replaced/installed.

Laser printers don't use printheads.

 

Printheads are uses in inkjet printers like Officejet, Photosmart, Deskjet

I see.. So that means all HP Color Laser Jet printers will work  without installing the color toners?
