Printing remotely

Hi, I've been able to set up the wireless printer to print from my laptop at home, but cannot get it to connect and print from my laptop when at a friend's home. Can someone please tell me the steps I need to take to print away from home? Thanks in advance.

Perform the steps mentioned below. 

Enable Print Anywhere

Print Anywhere is available with select printers. Open the HP Smart app to see if your printer is supported and to set up the service.

Make sure your computer or mobile device and the printer are connected to your wireless network.

Open the HP Smart app, and then create an account or sign in. If you do not have HP Smart, download it from 123.hp.com or your app store.

From the home screen, click your printer to open the information screen.

If Print Anywhere or Enable Print Anywhere is listed under Options or Settings, your printer is supported. Continue to the next step.

If a Print Anywhere option is not listed, your printer is not supported.

Enable Print Anywhere.

NOTE:

Print Anywhere is automatically enabled on all HP+ printers or any other HP printer with print plans.

iOS and Android: Tap Enable Print Anywhere, and then follow any prompts to sign into your HP account or to create one.

Windows and macOS: Click the Account icon to sign in to your HP account or to create one, and then go to the Print Anywhere setting and click Enable.

NOTE:

If a confirmation does not display, go to HP Smart and sign in. Add your printer with the printer code you originally used to set up the printer, and then return to the HP Smart app to confirm Print Anywhere is enabled.

Use Print Anywhere

Print Anywhere lets you print remotely, check printer status, and share printer access with others.

NOTE:

Some HP Smart app features and printer settings are not available with Print Anywhere.

Connect your computer or mobile device to a cellular network or any wireless network with internet access.

Use your printer with Print Anywhere.

Print from HP Smart: Select your printer that has the cloud icon , and then select one of the Print tiles.

Print from Windows and Android apps: Print from any app that has a Print menu. The remote printer shows the printer's email address.

Make copies (Android, iOS and select printer models): In HP Smart, tap the Copy tile to use the device camera to capture a document or photo that you can then edit and print.

Share your printer: Allow others to send remote print jobs to your Print Anywhere printer. Enable Private Pickup (HP+ printers only) to hold the print job until the person who sent it is near the printer.

Manage your printer: Select the printer icon to change printer preferences, view printer information and reports, and more.

Thanks so much for your help, Elohi. I haven't been remote with my printer since having the issue, but will try your suggestions as soon as I'm away from home again.
